Rue Lesrekta - The Warrior of Light
Take me back, oh drunken gods of slaughter
You know I've always been your favorite daughter-Sigrún "Rue" Lesrekta | 26 | 6'3'' | Veena | She / Her | Lesbian | WAR. RDM. DRK. DNC. RPR. AST | Warrior of Light & Scion of the 7th Dawn.
An unlikely hero, Rue is quick to anger, standoffish, and brash. She doesn’t fit the traditional mold of chivalry, but she does get the job done. She is usually seen wielding an axe, claymore, or red mage’s rapier.Unlike most Veena, Rue was born in the Twelveswood, far away from the Skatay Range. Her grandmother Daisy and some loyal friends migrated to Eorzea to experience a new adventure, and in doing so, started a small village in the forest and, in time, became a renowned group of treasure hunters. By the time Rue was born, Daisy Lesrekta was rather old. She did not have a good relationship with her daughter, nor did she come around much. Rue's mother, also named Sigrún, was overprotective, neurotic, and emotional. Even though Rue began hearing the voice of Hydaelyn at a young age, she never felt she could tell her mother about it. Rue's father was an absent man who often spent the family's money on drink and took his anger out on his wife. Despite Daisy's fame and riches, however, Rue's mother denied assistance from her and sought to raise her daughter on her own.Rue's mother enrolled her into a school in Gridania, however Rue struggled deeply here and often lashed out at other students. This culminated in her full expulsion at the age of 15 for starting a physical fight with a student who had been bullying one of her few friends. All in all, she was a deeply angry teenager with a turbulent homelife. This turbulence would come to an ugly head when, at the age of 17, her grandmother died and left her daughter and Rue the majority of her fortune. Despite the rift between herself and her daughter, she did not like the way her son in-law treated her daughter, and left him nothing. Rue's mother planned on donating this money, which angered her husband. One day, when Rue entered her family home to find her father standing over her lifeless mother, bloody knife in hand. Upon seeing his daughter, he lunged at her, which resulted in a violent fight. Rue managed to wrestle the knife away from her father and, in a grief-stricken fury, stabbed him to death. This resulted in a lengthy investigation and Rue needing to leave her village for good. She was just 17 years old, and has been haunted by nightmares and trauma from this event ever since. Her life after the fact was not easy either. She met a 19 year old Hyur who she quickly started a relationship with, but the relationship was rocky at best, and violent at worst. At this point, she was no longer hearing the goddess. She ended up leaving him when she was 19, after the Calamity happened. Some years later, she began hearing the voice of Hydaelyn again. She didn't know what to do about it at first, but the voice in her head had a soft, motherly tone that brought back a guilt she didn't know she could still feel. She returned to her village under the veil of night and unearthed her mother's bones. She then cremated them with the use of fire magic and emptied the ashes into a cerulean colored urn she bought in Gridania. Now 24, she had a new mission: to transport her mother's ashes and scatter them in the ocean somewhere. Her mother had always, ever since she was a little girl, wanted to see the ocean---but never had. Although she and her mother had a turbulent relationship at best, she feels as though she owes her at least this. Her mission was simple enough. She had no plans for her life after this, and knew the sight of a disturbed grave meant she could never return home even if she wanted to. But a chance meeting in Ul'dah and more meddling from Hydaelyn landed her in Waking Sands with an invitation to join the Scions of the 7th Dawn. The Warrior of Light had been found. She, at first, rejected their offer outright. The Scions eventually wear her out, though, with the promise of a place to stay and assistance in helping her find a suitable place to scatter her mother's ashes. Despite all of her grief, anger, and unresolved troubles, she works along the Scions and is, in time, hailed as the champion of Eorzea. Her journey isn't an easy one, and some would say she does not fit the role of "hero" well. Still, she becomes deeply loyal to her new found family, and will do anything to protect the people and things she cares about. She is especially protective of Alphinaud and Alisaie, as she doesn't want them to deal with the things she had to deal with at her age."Better me than you. Better my hands dirty than yours."She is still learning that she is not just a weapon or a monster, but a person worthy of love.
She swears a lot. Her vocabulary is colorful to say the least.
She is better at attack magic than healing magic. She is also extremely athletic and has incredible physical strength, which makes one of her preferred weapons a greataxe.
Haurchefant Greystone was her best friend. When he died, she blamed herself. She bonds with Y'saiah over shared grief and a desire to learn some healing magic, to make up for what she considers her own failings.
Despite her standoffishness, she has a weakness for cute girls. And dogs. If she were to spoil anything, it would be a dog. Funnily enough she also likes to snack on carrots, but don't tell anyone. She doesn't want people to know.
She and Kavya fall in love start dating during the events of Shadowbringers.

Oh, let's go back to the start-25 | 5'6''' | Seeker | He/ Him |Gay | SGE. AST. MCH | Scion of the 7th Dawn, Carrier of the Echo, & the Warrior of Light's Partner.Y’saiah is a genius and a skilled medical professional. The brain to Rue’s brawn. Gentle when he needs to be and stern when it’s required. Usually wields sage tools, as he studied in Sharlayan. Beware his sharp tongue.Y'saiah hails from Gridania and is the oldest of four siblings. His mother, Y'lina, was a popular actress traveling with a group of performers and playwrights, but her children had a loving father who, despite his chronic illness, did everything he could to be there for his children. Tragically, he passed away when Y'saiah was only eight, but his mother remarried a couple of years later to a Hyuran man named Alfred. At first, Alfred presented himself as a devoted and caring man, so Y'saiah's mother felt comfortable continuing her performances and leaving her children in his care while she was away.Alfred, however, had a keen interest in dark magic, and because of this, was stripped of his role of a cleric and exiled from Ishgard. Y'saiah's mother, of course, had no knowledge of this.Alfred began purposely making Y'saiah and his siblings sick, then using experimental medications to heal them. This cycle continued for a few years, with Y'saiah taking the brunt of Alfred's abuse. At first, he didn't realize that Alfred was the one causing their illnesses, but upon realizing it, he attacked and incapacitated Alfred, than took his siblings and ran to authorities. Upon learning about Alfred's true nature, Y'lina quit her acting career and returned to Gridania to care for her children. Y'saiah noticed how the guilt ate at his mother, and would often help her care for the younger children. It was around this time that Y'saiah decided to become a doctor. He had always done well in school, so well in fact that his instructors lauded him as a genius. He eventually applied to school in Sharlayan, and was accepted at the age of 17. He studied there for about a year, and befriended an older student named Li-hua. The two of them became disillusioned with Sharlayan's secrecy and shady behaviors, and publicly called out the Forum. This eventually led to their expulsion from the academy, so the two friends returned to Eorzea. This did not stop Y'saiah from pursuing his goals, especially not after he started hearing the voice of the goddess Hydaelyn. His expert healing magic played a key role in caring for the injured after the Calamity, which attracted the attention of the Scions. He joined their ranks as a doctor, and in time, would be paired up for missions with the newly recruited Rue Lesrekta.
He was engaged to Haurchefant Greystone for a short time, up until his death during the events of Heavensward
He uses both healing magic and novel medical practices to care for the sick and injured. After Haurchefant is killed, Rue asks him to teacher he healing magic. They bond over this and their shared grief.
He and Rue did not get along at first. At all!
Kavya Iryut
To exist in the face of suffering and death
And somehow still keep singing-27 | 6'3" | She / Her | Lesbian | Rava | WHM. BRD. DNC | Songbird & Scion of the 7th Dawn.Kavya is a confident, kindhearted woman. After rising to fame in La Noscea for her fun, catchy songs, she discovered the Scions and told them she’d like to join. Funny, reliable, and a strong healer and bard.Kavya was born in Radz-at-han to loving, successful merchant parents. They would often travel to Limsa Lominsa to pedal their wares, and when Kavya was 5, they took her with them. Kavya's parents had planned to leave her with a colleague while they traveled to Aleport to do business there. However, a horrible storm struck the sea that day, and their ship sank. When news of the merchant ship sinking reached Limsa Lominsa, Kavya was told her parents would not be returning. Now bereft of both parents, Kavya was surrendered to an orphanage in the city. The Haven by the Sea orphanage was a run down, overpacked establishment with few competent staff. Children were often mistreated, and because of this Kavya withdrew into a shy, nervous shell. Her only beacon of light was an older Hyuran girl named Olivia, who would often sing to the children to cheer them up. When Olivia turned 18, she began helping out at the orphanage, and would often fetch food and small presents for the children in the city. One day, a man steering a horse-drawn carriage making its way through the city suddenly lost control, the horses having been startled by something. Now frenzied, the horses and the carriage plowed through a food stall, tragically killing Olivia instantly. Kavya was only 13 when this happened, and again, she had lost somebody dear to her in what she considered a "freak accident," and thought of herself as cursed. After a period of mourning, Kavya resolved to adopt Olivia's bright, upbeat personality and sing to the other children at the orphanage to keep them happy. In time, she became more confident, and her stunning voice attracted onlookers when she performed outside. By the time she was 18, she was approached by people who thought her music should be shared, and thus she became a budding young singer that performed all over La Noscea. She was only 20 when the Calamity happened, but she encouraged people to have hope with her cheerful, bright personality and music. She learned about the Scions of the 7th Dawn due to her connections, and decided that she'd like to join them. She enjoyed singing, but she wanted to help people in a more tangible way. That, and she was interested in the whispers about a brash, standoffish woman that was apparently the new Warrior of Light.
Kavya's music is similar to ABBA's more upbeat hits. She's the in-universe equivalent of an idol.
She often hides her sadness and other negative emotions, feeling as though she is a better help to people appearing cheerful and confident. It's something she's working on.
She and Rue fall in love and start dating during the events of Shadowbringers.

Shower your affection, let it rain on me
Pull down the mountain, drag your cities to the sea25 | 5'3'' | She / Her | Lesbian | Seeker | SMN. BLM. | Scion of the 7th Dawn & Carrier of the Echo.Malaya is a mysterious, reserved, and often times gloomy person. She has an interest in the macabre and is skilled in magic, but she she struggles with bouts of depression and fatigue. She has been hearing the voice of Hydaelyn ever since she was a child, and has been plagued by frequent migraines associated with the echo. While this is normal for most carriers, Malaya grows ill easily, and this only seems to exacerbate the negative effects of the echo. She spent much of her childhood cooped up in her home as she was frequently unable to go out and play with other children due to her weak constitution and bouts of sickness. She had one close friend, Ada, but depending on Malaya's condition, they weren't always able to spend time together. As Malaya grew older, she became more closed off and depressed. She dedicated much of her time to studying magic and to researching the true nature of the echo, in hopes that she might find a cure for it. For a long time, she hates Hydaelyn and blames her for all of the things that have gone wrong in her life---missed opportunities, the migraines, her chronic fatigue, illnesses, and visions of memories she feels she doesn't have the right to see. While Ada wants to help her in this mission, she wishes Malaya would be kinder to herself. When Ada starts her adventurer's guild, she urges Malaya to join. Malaya does, although a bit reluctantly. But it is through her connections to this guild that she finds out about the Scions of the 7th Dawn, their Sharlayan Archon members, their highly skilled physician, and the Warrior of Light. She and Ada seek them out, and eventually, end up joining forces with them.Malaya still seeks a cure for the echo, and rejects the idea that Hydaelyn is a deity worth following. She doesn't truly know if the world can be saved, or if it's even worth saving in the first place, but perhaps with new allies, she will find that she is capable of more than she ever knew.
Malaya enjoys the macabre and often reads horror novels. She's a bit of a goth, too.
She is an incredibly strong mage. She picks up new spells quickly.
While Ada is in love with her, she struggles to figure out if she loves Ada in return. Over time, however, she is able to be more forgiving toward herself and open up more to the idea of romance.
Arendel D'aureville
Oh, don't you know I have seen, I have seen the fields aflame.
And everything I ever did was just another way to scream your name-28 | 6'10'' | He / Him | Bisexual | Isghardian Elezen | BRD. MCH | Scion of the 7th Dawn.To Arendel, all the world’s a stage. He can be a bit flippant and silly, but he has a good heart. There’s a rumor going around that he is ex-nobility who ran away, but he doesn’t discuss it much. A talented bard and machinist with a good sense of humor.Arendel D'aureville, born Severin de Fontaine, belonged to a minor noble house of Ishgard. His only family was his father, Benoit de Fontaine, and his older brother, Bastien de Fontaine. The name "Severin" means "severe," which--funnily enough--never really suited him.Arendel's father was strict, often instilling his "lessons" with verbal and sometimes, physical abuse. His older brother seemed to take the brunt of this, but Arendel was not so easily spared. Never one to enjoy combat training, he often shirked duties to enter the Ishgardian streets in seek of excitement. He enjoyed music, parties, the arts and a good drink--but never what his father wanted for him. Benoit raised his sons (or tried to raise them) to be devout followers of the Ishgardian Faith. He instilled, rather violently, in them strict adherence to religious doctrine and offered no room for argument. He also realized, at a young age, that he had an interest in men just as much as women, which is not something his father, nor older brother (the model child, it seems) would approve of.He began a secret relationship with a young man named Flavien, a soon-to-be temple knight with equal distaste for the Ishgardian military and everything to do with it. It was his family duty, however, and he was not given much of a choice. Arendel was 20, while his lover was 21. He was set to join the knights in the next year, no matter how much he protested.Strangely enough, this is a fate that would never come to pass. While Flavien had been out on a dragon hunting mission, word spread like wildfire that a temple knight had gone rogue, swearing his fealty to the dragons and murdering his entire troop. Arendel had been receiving increasingly concerning letters from Flavien, who seemed to be teetering on the brink for a while, citing how horrible his general was and how he was starting to really wonder if the dragons were as horrible as Ishgard says they are. This all culminated in Flavien attacking his troop after he found them torturing infant dragons. He came back to Ishgard veritably drenched in blood, ranting and raving about how Arendel has to run away now because I'm here and they'll think you're a heretic. He isn't left with much of a choice. The knights find Flavien, and immediately set to execute him for his crimes. Word got out that Arendel had a relationship with him, and he was instantly flagged as a co-conspirator and heretic. Word spread to Arendel's father, who was already sickly at the time. His health rapidly declined, and he died shortly after, cursing his son with his dying breath, demanding that his eldest, Bastien, "put an end to it."Arendel has no choice but to flee Ishgard with scant but the clothes on his back, a bow, and some cosmetics to alter his appearance. He dyes his hair, changes his first and last name, and takes up residence in Gridania, dodging any and all questions about who he is. It all happened so fast that he barely had time to process it...and hasn't really, ever since. His brother, Bastien, swears to find him and kill him, and sends his own personal men into the city states to track him down. Arendel has to be pretty sharp if he wants to avoid them all. He can't afford to go back to Ishgard either if he wants his head to stay attached to his shoulders.Funnily enough, he hears that the WoL, Rue Lesrekta, is in Gridania. He decides that hey, what better protection is this? The literally Twelve's-damned Warrior of Light. He essentially inserts himself into the Scions business--similar to Kavya but with much less noble of a reason for it.He, of course, grows over time. He is one of the only "scions" left with Rue during the events of Heavensward (he has to really double up on the disguises when he's back in Ishgard), and begins to truly care for his newfound friends. He may not have fully processed his past, and may cause...problems due to his seeming inability to takes things seriously, favoring humor in all things. In reality, it's difficult for him to think about the past. He tends to get caught up in it. Healing is difficult when you've barely processed it. But things slowly get better over time.
Arendel is in love with Y'saiah. Uh oh!
He enjoys loudly playing music in public places. While he is talented, such things aren't always appreciated.
He longs to own a pet bird, specifically a parrot.

The horses are coming. So you better runAdama is a romantic, poetic woman who sees value and beauty in everything. She has an adventurous, confident personality that makes others admire her and feel drawn to her. In many ways, she is hope incarnate. She and Malaya grew up in the North Shroud, and often spent time together because their fathers were friends. Ada loved spending time with Malaya, but couldn't see her as much as she would have liked to due to Malaya's illnesses and chronic migraines. She was always the adventurous sort, but wanted to ensure that she could be accommodating to her beloved friend. When Malaya couldn't join her on her little adventures, she would come back with stories to tell her when Malaya was well enough to listen. She talked about becoming an apprentice at Gridania's conjurer's guild, and all of the tasks its leader would have her complete to hone her skills. Similarly, she learned to use a shortsword and dancer's blades, and would tell tales of slaying beasts with them. (As she was a child, these "beasts" were forest funguars, but nevertheless, she was a good storyteller who made even the smallest of fights sound exciting.)Her love of adventure and storytelling grew as she got older, but she still always thought about Malaya stuck at home in her bed. When the calamity happened, Ada decided she wanted to make a real difference, and used the money she'd been saving up to purchase an old building and set up an adventurer's guild in the East Shroud, and encouraged her childhood friend to join her.Within a few years, Ada's guild, which she called Calluna, started to make a real name for itself. During the events of A Realm Reborn, through connections in the region, Ada makes contact with the members of the Scions of the 7th Dawn. She leaves the guild in the care of some of its bartender for the time being, and together with Malaya joins them.
She's a great storyteller, but she's no bard. She can't carry a tune very well and isn't one for playing instruments. Her strengths lie in painting a vivid picture through writing and spoken word.
She is one of the few either in her guild or in the Scions that can serve as an all-rounder in a party (tank, healer, and dps). She is just as skilled with white magic as she is with a sword and dancer's blades.
When they finally begin dating, she calls Malaya "My moon and stars," and other very poetic romantic things, as is her nature.

She is a skilled black mage who is strong enough to protect the guild and its members pretty much on her own, and she takes this duty quite seriously. As a person, Aline is hard to read. She's not super talkative, but can usually be seen with a knowing smile on her face. One of the main reasons Calluna has a bar attached to it is to earn money for its members and their goals. Aline uses her position as bartender to essentially scan people for information, possible threats, and learn whats going on in the region. She is well aware that alcohol loosens tongues, and is more than happy to provide if it means getting the information she requires. She will, at times, mutter a spell under her breath to make water look and smell like alcohol, to keep an inebriated guest busy and talking but not ready to pass out.She does this mostly to protect the guild and to provide Ada with information while she's away. She is cunning, charming, and exceptionally skilled in figuring out what people's true motives are.
Despite owning a bar, Aline is not a heavy drinker herself. She does, however, have a very high tolerance.
Aline is incredibly good with magic, and prefers it as it allows her to scan a battlefield from a distance. This helps her to plan her next move.

They spent much of their time together like this. When he was 8, his father returned from a long mission in Dravania claiming that the Ishgardians ought to end the war with the dragons, and they he had ascertained the truth behind their long, violent conflict. He became aware of the fact that it was the Ishgardians who started this war, and plead his case to the Archbishop in an attempt to help make things right. The Archbishop and his knights immediately branded Elijah's father as a heretic, and he was subsequently executed without trial. The Archbishop soon sent his knights for Elijah's mother as well. Mateo Soto
There will come a poet, whose weapon is his word-22 | 5'9" | He / Him | Gay | Rava | RDM |At the beginning of Endwalker, Mateo is a sharlayan college student. He is a pacifistic sort who admires heroic individuals and has always wanted to help people, so naturally he admires the WoL. He starts a project for his class that requires he and his group interview her, so he sets out to find her.Mateo was rather unassuming and meek as a child. He was born in Sharlayan, to gleaner parents, both of whom worked constantly and got very little rest. This led to a divorce, and Mateo ended up living mostly with his father. Dad continued working as a gleaner, and because he was very skilled at it, was often working incredibly long hours. So Mateo didn't see either of his parents a lot, and he struggled a bit with school due to some difficulties with focusing in classes and misunderstanding some of the subjects. He was also bullied as a child for his shyness and tendency to fall behind his classmates. This all compounds with the fact that he possesses the echo (although faintly). He found solace in reading stories and drawing comics about heroic figures. He felt inspired by their bravery and decided that he would dedicate himself to helping people. A teenager before the Calamity, he was a big fan of the Warriors of Light, often telling himself that he would one day become one. When the Calamity hit, he survived, but was shaken by the event and withdrew back into his shell. This was until he heard about the new Warrior of Light--a daring Viera named Rue Lesrekta, famous for wielding a variety of weapons, most notably a red mage's rapier. Mateo began to draw and write again, fascinated with Rue and the Scions. He swore that he'd find a way to meet her and thank her for giving him courage. This opportunity comes along in the form of a group project for his college class. The professor asks the class to interview and write a report on a notable member of society, and of course, Mateo chooses his hero. The question is, will Mateo's perception of Rue match reality? Either way, he finds very quickly that he and his project partner Nanako Uehara do not have to look very far to find her.

They are normally against things leading to violence, but if it comes to it, Imani will quickly incapacitate an opponent to protect those around them.Imani is an easy person to get along with, and most people would describe them as somebody who can light up the room with a contagious laugh. They do, however, constantly deal with the trauma of losing the majority of their adoptive siblings and one of their fathers during the calamity. Their survivor's guilt is the most palpable whenever their remaining adoptive father, Zoren, brings up the past, or when somebody in their care does something reckless. They tend to take on a grim expression and become incredibly resistant to discussion on the topic. Imani thinks of their lost family members constantly, but tries to put on a calm and brave face for those around them, especially their students. The only person who knows the full extent of this is their wife, Li hua. At first, most people think Imani is a person who doesn't really experience many troubles, but this could not be further from the truth. Li hua tries to remind her to slow down--to take a break, and to allow themself to feel the negative emotions that often plague them.Their upbeat personality isn't entirely a façade, though. They do find joy in educating and in goldsmithing, but for the people that know them well, it's easy to see the gloom hiding under the cheerful smile. They love kids and can often be found playing with them. They are, of course, the most popular teacher at the craftworks school they teach at in Mor Dhona.

She tells them that she would simply like to observe them and relay their stories to others---to sow the seeds to keep them alive long after they pass. Rue Lesrekta doesn't particularly trust her, and the two occasionally butt heads. When the Scions happen upon some information about Elara, they know that there are people who refer to a as their Savior.
Jun Uehara
Took a lot of money to look the part
Took a lot of pain to tame a heart
Took a lot of years to lose my fear of flying-23 | 6'0" | He / Him | Bisexual | GNB |Jun and his sister were born in Doma, but their parents took them and fled to Limsa Lominsa when they were very young. They paid a great sum of money to gain passage to Sharlayan, and were left destitute upon arrival in the coastal city of knowledge. All throughout his childhood, Jun watched as his parents struggled as gleaners to be able to earn enough money to keep him and his sister clothed and fed, all the while barely taking any time for themselves. As he got older, he also noticed Sharlayan's policy of inaction when it came to global affairs, and became furious at the state of things. As he entered his mid teens, he became incredibly jaded and started treating most things and people flippantly. He had been inspired by the story of two students, Y'saiah Rosario and Li-hua Feng, but simultaneously crushed when he learned of their expulsion from university. When the calamity happened, he decided to leave home in the dead of night to make for Doma, where he would connect with resistance forces. He left his sister with a letter, but did not bring his linkshell---much to her grief and dismay. It is during the events of Stormblood that he meets up with the WoL and the Scions. He doesn't join them per se, and outright criticizes them for taking so damn long to get there. He does, however, come to respect Rue Lesrekta, and once the empire is no more in Doma, follows her to Ala Mhigo. When the Scions are taken to the First, he worked alongside Estinien Wyrmblood and (with a great deal of restraint) Gaius van Baelsar to deal with the threat of the Black Rose.It is only during the events of Endwalker that he returns to Sharlayan, greeting a sister and family who at first, wonder if they're seeing a ghost. As a person, Jun is, again, quite flippant and tends to have a devil-may-care attitude that irritates people who prefer a more practical approach to things. He is not above mocking others, and at times will purposely attempt to goad people into anger. This tendency makes his homecoming a bit...strained, as Nanako is still furious at him, and would prefer to focus on her bid for acheiving Archon status with her thesis about alternative uses for glammour prisms. How will Jun, Nanako, and Nanako's best friend, Mateo come together when the threat of the Blasphemies threatens to tear the entire world apart?
Nanako Uehara
Creature of habit, shine down on me
Your hat, my rabbit, for free-23 | 5'9'' | She / Her | bisexual | Midlander Hyur | AST |Nanako is Jun’s sister. She has a bit of a haughty, flippant personality, but she is incredible resourceful and intelligent. As of Endwalker, she is a university student in Sharlayan studying the wider uses and effects of glamour prisms, as well as the science behind dye and potion-making. She is adept in fashion designing, too, often taking inspiration from traditional Doman apparel.Despite being in different courses, Mateo in a history course and Nanako in the sciences, they become friends based off of a shared interest in the warrior of light and the Scions. When a project for Mateo's history program roles around to interview an influential person, Nanako agrees to help him find Rue Lesrekta. What she doesn't expect to happen is for her brother to show up in Sharlayan with her. This throws Nanako for a loop; she's shaken with a new form of grief that she thought she'd buried after he disappeared into the night all those years ago. She doesn't have much time to deal with it, though, as the blasphemies start descending upon the planet and she finds herself, her brother, and Mateo following the Scions into battle. As a skilled Astrologian, she is a valuable asset to the team.Something extremely important to Nanako is that people do not lose hope and give into the idea that the world cannot be saved. She believes that she can help people and that there are many ways for a person to make a positive change in the world. She can come off as haughty and arrogant, but she really does value those around her, especially her closest friends.
Y'talia Rosario Vargas
Breath, should I take a deep?
Faith, should I take a leap?18 | 5'1" | She / Her | Bisexual | Seeker | WAR |While not a student in Sharlayan, she does befriend Mateo's group based on their similar age. As Y’saiah’s little sister, she feels inferior to him, so she wants to prove herself. She can be stubborn and obstinate, but tries her best.Y'talia is the second oldest sibling in Y'saiah's family--and the oldest girl. As mentioned with Y'saiah, her stepfather was cruel and unhinged, often trying to experiment on the children and/or subject them to illnesses in attempts to "cure" them. Y'saiah took the brunt of this to keep his siblings safe, but Y'talia was always old enough to know what her brother was doing, and to this day blames her perceived powerlessness. Y'saiah told her this once:I am your older brother. It's only natural that I'd protect you."But this did nothing to quell her anguish. Since she was a child, she has always sought to prove herself. Her brother is also a genius, and an increasingly famous one at that. He also tends to hide things from the family (in his mind, for their own safety), but Y'talia does not accept this as a valid answer. She took up the axe to stand at her brother's side as an equal, but she often feels that she's fallen short. The more she hears about the Warrior of Light, the Scions, and all of their adventures, the more she wants to see things for herself. In the thick of night, she runs away from home leaving naught else but a note for her family and promises to find Y'saiah and these illustrious Scions of the 7th Dawn. When she does, Y'saiah is shocked to see her, and informs her that what they do is dangerous and that she should go home. This infuriates her, and so she does no such thing. While Y'saiah is stuck in this mindset of needing to protect (and at times, lying to protect), Y'talia is also an adult and wants to live her own life and do what she feels is the right thing.
